Claudia Boyle makes her debut at NY PHIL BIENNIAL as Cecily in the US stage premiere of Gerald Barry’s The Importance of being Earnest. This Royal Opera production at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Ilan Volkov opens on 2 June with further performances on 3 and 4 June.
Making “an auspicious company debut” (The Times) as Cecily in London earlier this season, Claudia was highly praised as using “her high, bright soprano to surreal effect” (Opera) and demonstrating “perfect control in this high-flying role” (The Guardian). She will return to Semperoper Dresden to reprise her portrayal of Adina (L’elisir d’amore) under Matteo Beltrami, before returning to London in the new season for her role debut as Leïla (The Pearl Fishers) at ENO.
