Alban Gerhardt returns to Iceland Symphony Orchestra performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 under the baton of David Danzmayr. This programme also includes Richard Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustraand an overture by Poland’s Grażyna Bacewicz, a prolific and widely acclaimed mid-twentieth-century composer. 

Highlights for the rest of the 2017/18 season include appearances with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Washington‘s National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Dublin and a recital at Wigmore Hall in July.
