On 19 September, Peter Eötvös conducts his latest opera Senza Sangueand Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle at Hackney Empire Theatre in London. Senza Sangue, co-commissioned by New York Philharmonic and premiered in New York in May 2015, received its UK premiere earlier this year when Simone Young and BBC Symphony Orchestra performed the piece at Barbican Centre. The opera returns to London in a fully staged production of Opera Grand Avignon and the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz Métropole, presented in association with Armel Opera Festival.
