Kim-Lillian Strebel and Barry Banks open the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg’s season with Bach’s Magnificat and Haydn’s Te Deum under Chief Conductor Riccardo Minasi on 21 September.
With recent engagements including the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and her US operatic debut as Pamina in Barrie Kosky’s production of Die Zauberflöte for Cincinnati Opera, Kim-Lillian Strebel is a young artist on the rise. With strong support from Donald Runnicles and Calixto Bieito, Kim-Lillian appears at St John’s Smith Square in London for Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem later this season, and returns to Atlanta Symphony for Bach with Runnicles.
Fresh from his acclaimed success as the Astrologer in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Le Coq d’Or in new productions at both Teatro Real Madrid and Santa Fe Opera over the summer, Barry Banks makes a welcome return to Salzburg. Elsewhere this season he joins Casa da Música and Baldur Brönnimann for Britten’s War Requiem, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Juanjo Mena for Handel’s Messiah, and Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Vasily Petrenko as the Astrologer.
