20/1/2017
This week, Aga Mikolaj, Charlotte Hellekant and Nathan Berg join forces with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and Gianluigi Gelmetti for Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis on 29 January.
Fresh from performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Torino, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Aga Mikolaj maintains a busy concert diary alongside her operatic commitments. Next, Aga returns to Asia as Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) at the New National Theatre in Tokyo.
Charlotte Hellekant has recently appeared on the concert platform at the Festival de Música de Canarias in Schoenberg’s Gurrelieder under Josep Pons, and in Boulanger’s Faust et Hélène with the Oslo Philharmonic under James Gaffigan. In the spring, she reunites with Sasha Waltz for performances of Matsukaze at La Monnaie and Teatr Wielki, conducted by Bassem Akiki.
Nathan Berg has previously performed Missa Solemnis with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under Hans Graf, Orchestra of St Luke’s under Roger Norrington, and most recently with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Donald Runnicles. Later this season, Nathan makes his Salzburger Festspiele debut as The King in Handel’s Ariodante in Christof Loy’s new production.
