From 21 January, Stefan Asbury returns to Leipzig to begin a series of concerts featuring iconic pieces of 20th Century Music from Anglophile composers.
Stefan starts with the MDR Sinfonieorchester, performing Ives’ Symphony No.4 and Glass’ Violin Concerto No.1 (soloist Chad Hoopes). He continues with the Sinfonietta Leipzig on 29 January in a concert featuring Britten’s Sinfonietta, Maxwell-Davies’ Suite from The Devils, Benjamin’s At First Light, and Turnage’s Dark Crossing. The series concludes with a return to the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig for two performances of Tippet’s A Child of Our Time on 2 and 3 February.
