Patricia Kopatchinskaja’s month of Ligeti, Tchaikovsky & Ravel in Europe

January 2017 sees Patricia Kopatchinskaja embark upon a number of exciting projects.
The month begins with several performances of Ligeti’s Violin Concerto; performing the piece with the Berner Symphonieorchester and Mario Venzago at the Kultur Casino Bern on 1 & 2 January as part of their New Year celebrations, with Filarmonica della Scala under Andrés Orozco-Estrada at Teatro alla Scala on 9 January and with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Jukka-Pekka Saraste at the Helsinki Music Centre on 27 January. The latter performance is streamed live by ARTE and YLE Teema.
Kopatchinskaja will also go on tour with Wiener Symphoniker and Teodor Currentzis, performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at the Konzerthaus Vienna (on 12, 13 & 22 January), at the Stephaniensaal Graz (on 16 & 17 January), at Festspiel und Kongresshaus Bregenz (19 January) and at Dortmund’s Konzerthaus (21 January).
She rounds off the month with an appearance with NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra as part of the inaugural performances of the new Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, playing Ravel’s Tzigane under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock on 31 January & 2 February.
