20/12/2016
Klaus Mäkelä makes his conducting debut with Latvia National Symphony Orchestra, celebrating the end of 2016 with New Year’s Eve concerts at the Guild Concert Hall, Riga (28, 29, 30 December).
The programme includes a selection of songs from Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances opus’ 46 and 72, and from Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.21 with Finnish pianist Iiro Rantala.
After these concerts, on 6 January Mäkelä returns to the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra to mark the start of the centenary celebrations of Finnish independence with a concert featuring classic Finnish film music.
