St Louis Post-Dispatch
On 4 and 5 November Han-Na Chang made a highly successful debut with St. Louis Symphony, conducting Glinka’s Overture from Ruslan and Ludmilla, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.1 with soloist Jan Mráček, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.5.
Chang was described by St Louis Post-Dispatch as “graceful, strong, charismatic and deeply musical” and having “total rapport with the musicians of the orchestra”.The local radio station KDHX said the performance contained “real excitement”, in particular the Tchaikovsky which Chang had internalised so thoroughly that she was able to “bring out nuances” new to such familiar music.
