Lawrence Zazzo marks Innsbrucker Festwochen’s 40th Anniversary
19/8/2016

Lawrence Zazzo joins Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik recreating the programme performed 40 years ago by René Jacobs accompanied by Alan Curtis at the harpsichord. This performance, historically-informed in every sense, includes arias by Caldara and Handel accompanied by Amandine Beyer (baroque violine), Baldomero Barciela (viola da gamba) and Anna Fontana (harpsichord) on 24 August.
A leading interpreter of the operatic Baroque roles, this concert concludes Lawrence’s 2015/16 season which included highlights such as the title role in Orlando for Welsh National Opera, Purcell’s The Fairy Queen with RIAS Kammerchor, and Delio in Cavalli’s Veremonda at the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele. In the coming season, Lawrence looks ahead to Unulfo (Rodelinda) for Teatro Real Madrid, Arsamene (Xerxes) for Oper Frankfurt, and returns to the role of Giulio Cesare for Boston Baroque.
