On 12 August Pierre-Laurent Aimard performs with violist, Antoine Tamestit and clarinettist, Mark Simpson at the Edinburgh International Festival, marking the first of four trio performances together this year.

The programme in Edinburgh includes the world premiere of Mark Simpson’s Hommage à Kurtág amongst other works by Kurtág, Schumann and Stroppa. The trio gives further performances at the Salzburger Festspiele on 14 August, in Cologne on 21 September and at the Strasbourg Festival on 25 September.

Also in September, Aimard performs an all-Boulez programme with Tamara Stefanovich at Philharmonie Berlin as part of the Berliner Festspiele and in homage to the great composer.
