Paul Appleby returns to Glyndebourne as Berlioz’ Bénédict
15/7/2016
Paul Appleby returns to Glyndebourne as Bénédict in Laurent Pelly’s production of Berlioz’ Béatrice et Bénédict. Brought to Glyndebourne as part of the UK’s Shakespeare400 programme marking the anniversary of the playwright’s death, Paul performs under Antonello Manacorda from 23 July to 27 August.
The performance marks Appleby’s return to the Festival following his debut there last summer as Jonathan in their universally-acclaimed production of Handel’s Saul.
Fast becoming one of opera’s most sought after tenors, Paul Appleby returns to Europe next season for debuts at both Dutch National Opera and Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
