22/4/2016
Osmo Vänskä embarks upon a tour of Asia with Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, performing two different programmes, also featuring violinist Renaud Capuçon.
The two programmes include Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, Brahms’ Symphony No.2 and a selection by Osmo Vänskä from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.
The tour starts in China on 28 April at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing (streamed live on NCPA Classic), follows on to Jinan Grand Theatre (29) and Shanghai Grand Theatre (30), and ends with two concerts at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai, India, on 4 and 5 May. These final concerts mark both Osmo Vänskä and the orchestra’s debut in Mumbai.
Leading up to the tour, the orchestra performed both programmes in Geneva, on 17, 20, 21 and 22 April. The final concert featured a visual installation projected above the orchestra for the performance of Romeo and Juliet, presented by Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design.
