Josefowicz premieres Adams’ Scheherazade.2 in Australia

Leila Josefowicz appears with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and conductor David Robertson on 2, 3 and 4 March to perform the Australian premiere of Scheherazade.2 (Dramatic Symphony for Violin and Orchestra) by John Adams.
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra co-commissioned this piece with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam; the Royal Concertgebouw; and the New York Philharmonic, with whom Josefowicz performed the world premiere in March 2015.
Josefowicz performed Scheherazade.2 with David Robertson last month, appearing with the St. Louis Symphony on 19 and 20 February. Later this month she performs the piece conducted by the composer with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in April.
