Anne Sofie von Otter adds another Kurt Weill role to her repertoire
8/1/2016
Following her debut as Leocadia Begbick in Kurt Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden last season, Anne Sofie von Otter reinvents herself again in her debut as Jenny in Weill’s Die Dreigroschenoper. Performances of Keith Warner’s production for Theater an der Wien open on 13 January, conducted by Johannes Kalitzke.
Constantly adding new roles to her repertoire, Anne Sofie von Otter returns to the opera stage later this season when she creates the role of Leonora in the world premiere of Thomas Adès’ opera The Exterminating Angel at the Salzburger Festspiele.
