This week Patricia Kopatchinskaja performs the world premiere of Michael Hersch’s Violin Concerto, commissioned for her by The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra as part of her artistic partnership with them. Performances take place at concerts in St.Paul on 5, 6 and 7 November, as part of a programme which also sees Patricia play Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.
This premiere follows Patricia’s acclaimed interpretation of Thomas Larcher’s Violin Concerto last week at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Markus Stenz.
Devoted to playing and promoting music by contemporary composers, later this year Patricia will perform the French premiere of Michel van der Aa’s Violin Concerto, as well as pieces from György Kurtág and Galina Ustvolskaya in Hamburg and London.
