Following his summer success at the 2015 Operalia competition at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Pene Pati has been awarded Second Prize at the Neue Stimmen competition in Gütersloh. 

Performing ​‘Una furtiva lagrima’ from Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore and ​‘Lunge da lei…Miei bollenti spiriti’ from Verdi’s La traviata in the final, which was live-streamed globally, Pene won over the esteemed panel with his fresh tone and charismatic stage presence. 

Next year, Pene will take up his place as an Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera for the next two seasons, having previously participated in their Merola Opera Program.
