HarrisonParrott welcomes Jean-Yves Thibaudet
1/10/2015
It is with enormous pleasure that HarrisonParrott announces the commencement of its worldwide general management of Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Over more than three decades he has built an unassailable reputation as one of the world’s very finest pianists.
During the 2015/16 season Thibaudet embraces three significant residencies: with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the Colburn School in Los Angeles. At the latter he embarks upon the second of a three-year engagement where his passion for education and fostering young musical talent is invested in masterclasses and performances with the students.
Thibaudet’s recording catalogue of more than 50 albums has received two Grammy nominations, the Diapason d’Or, Gramophone and Echo awards and the Edison Prize. He has also made a significant impact in the worlds of film, fashion and philanthropy – featuring on the award-winning film soundtracks for Atonement, Pride and Prejudice and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and attired in a concert wardrobe designed by Dame Vivienne Westwood. Thibaudet was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl’s Hall of Fame in 2010. In France he has been honoured with the Victoire d’Honneur and was made Officier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in 2012.
“…every note he fashions is a pearl…the joy, brilliance and musicality of his performance could not be missed.”
