Case Scaglione and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet perform with the Hong Kong Philharmonic
8/5/2015
This week Case Scaglione returns to the Hong Kong Philharmonic following his successful debut with them last season. He conducts the orchestra on 15 and 16 May in a programme that features Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.18, with Jean-Efflam Bavouzet as soloist, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.11.
Scaglione has received wide acclaim for his recent performances, including from the New York Times who described his concerts with the New York Philharmonic this season as “richly detailed” and “colorful and sure-paced”, and for his Scandinavian debut with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, where the reviewer described his conducting as “elegant”.
Bavouzet’s performance in Hong Kong is immediately preceded by a recital tour of Taiwan where he performs a programme of Beethoven, Boulez, Debussy and Ravel in Hsinchu, Taichung and Taipei.
