John Adams debuts with Wiener Symphoniker
6/3/2015

John Adams makes his debut with Wiener Symphoniker in two concerts on 13 and 15 March at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
The programme features Adams’ own work, Absolute Jest, which is written for solo string quartet and orchestra, and is based on fragments from Beethoven’s string quartets. The Doric String Quartet joins him for these performances.
Previously in Vienna, Adams conducted the world premiere of his opera A Flowering Tree in 2006, and he returns to Europe later this year to conduct his latest work, Scheherazade.2, with the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
