On 18 January Xian Zhang returns to the UK for a performance with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican featuring soloist Valentina Lisitsa.

The programme includes the Overture to Verdi’s La forza del destino, the full opera having been conducted by Xian in her debut with Washington National Opera last season. 

No stranger to the UK, this concert follows Xian’s successful debut with Welsh National Opera last season when she conducted their new production of Nabucco. She returns again in May to conduct BBC National Orchestra of Wales and is back in London in the autumn for English National Opera.
