Patricia Kopatchinskaja makes her debut as Artistic Partner of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra with a number of performances in Saint Paul and the Twin Cities area between 20 and 30 November.
The performances see Patricia play/direct the orchestra in concerts that include traditional Moldovan folk works, which she performs with her parents, cymbalist Viktor Kopatchinsky and violinist Emilia Kopatchinskaja.
Her programmes also feature works by Mozart, Bartók and Schubert as well as a new arrangement of Ravel’s Tzigane. Patricia will return for further performances with the orchestra in March 2015.
Other highlights of Kopatchinskaja’s schedule this autumn have included debuts with the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zürich and the Berliner Philharmoniker, with whom she performed Peter Eötvös’ DoRéMi concerto. She will also perform this same piece, again under the baton of Eötvös, at the Dialogues Festival in Salzburg next month.
