On 3 August, Francisco Negrin​’s latest production of Mitridate, re di Ponto conducted by David Stern opens at the Drottningholms Slottsteater. The production runs until 16 August.

Having previously directed the opera at the Alhambra in Granada, Santa Fe Festival and the Grand Théâtre de Genève, this is a new production for Negrin.

Recent highlights include a production of Alcina at Den Norske Opera and Rinaldo for the Lyric Opera of Chicago which met with particular acclaim.

Negrin’s next production will be in November when he directs Mozart’s Idomeneo at the Aalto Theater, Essen.
