Francisco Negrin​’s new production of Mozart’s Idomeneo opens at the Aalto-Musiktheater, Essen, conducted by Tomáš Netopil. With performances running from 29 November to 21 January, this production marks Negrin’s return to the Mozart repertoire following his successful new production of Mitridate at Drottningholms Slottsteater this summer.

Particularly acclaimed for his productions of Baroque operas such asGiulio Cesare and Orlando, Negrin will later go on to stage his production of Handel’s Alcina for the Royal Danish Opera, already seen at Den Norske Opera.
