Following swiftly on from his role as Artiste étoile at the Mozartfest Würzburg, Jörg Widmann features as Artist and Composer in Residence at the 2014 Rheingau Festival.

Widmann’s appearances at the Festival in July and August include a masterclass focusing on his compositions, a recital with the Arcanto Quartett, featuring two pinnacles of the chamber repertoire for clarinet — the Quintets by Mozart and Brahms – a trio concert with Carolin Widmann and Dénes Varjon and a concerto performance, in which he is soloist in Weber’s Clarinet Concerto with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Peter Oundjian.
