This month clarinetist and composer Jörg Widmann is involved in three premiere performances. Firstly at the Donaueschinger Musiktage on 18 October, he premieres a new clarinet concerto, über, dedicated to him by Mark Andre.

Then on 25 October, Widmann’s own new trio, Es war einmal … is performed by himself, Tabea Zimmermann and Dénes Várjon for the first time in a chamber music recital at Tonhalle Zürich. Finally, on 28 October, Antoine Tamestit and the Orchestre de Paris under the baton of Paavo Järvi premiere Widmann’s new Viola Concerto at the Philharmonie de Paris.
