21/6/2024
AXIOM, a new cello and orchestra concerto by Birdsong composer Noah Max, receives its world premiere on 26 June at the Proms at St Jude’s Festival. Max conducts Echo Ensemble, which he founded and now leads as Artistic Director. AXIOM was written in memory of the composer’s late uncle, Edward Max; the cello soloist is Robert Max, Edward’s brother and Noah’s father. The concerto appears in a programme of works by Mozart, including his Symphonies No.29 and No.33, as well as the Horn Concerto No.4 with soloist Felix Klieser.
