Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra Premieres New Work by Daníel Bjarnason
16/2/2024
On 21 and 22 February, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra premieres a new work by Daníel Bjarnason entitled A Fragile Hope at Göteborgs Konserthus.
The programme pairs film footage by photojournalist Joakim Odelberg of threatened marine ecosystems with newly commissioned music by Nordic composers, seeking to highlight the preciousness and vulnerability of sea life. Other composers featured include Miho Hazama, Mats Larsson Gothe, Maja S. K. Ratkje and Outi Tarkiainen.
Bjarnason’s 15 minute work also appears in Göteborgs Konserthus’ School Concerts series, aimed at students aged 13 to 18, from 26 February to 1 March.
