Golda Schultz: This be her verse

A unique exploration of female composers

Following first outings in Munich and at the Kissinger Sommer Festival, Golda Schultz​’s new recital programme, devised with regular pianist partner Jonathan Ware, tours in Europe and the US in the 2021/22 season, with performances in Berlin, Köln, Edinburgh, Aix-en-Provence, Lucerne, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Vancouver and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Taken from the title of the featured new commission by Kathleen Tagg and librettist Lila Palmer, ​‘This Be Her Verse’ explores the worlds and inspirations of neglected female composers, and forms Schultz’s debut CD release in 2022. The programme opens with works of Clara Schumann and Emilie Mayer, leading through Rebecca Clarke’s take on classic texts of William Blake, a devotional selection from Nadia Boulanger, and closing with the titled new commission ​‘This Be Her Verse’ from composer Kathleen Tagg and poet-librettist Lila Palmer.
