To open Edinburgh International Festival, Sofi Jeannin conducts John Tavener’s The Veil of the Temple at Usher Hall on 2 August. This piece is directed by Thomas Guthrie and involves the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Monteverdi Choir, Edinburgh Festival Chorus, National Youth Choir of Scotland, NYCOS Chamber Choir, and soprano Sophia Burgos.

The eight-hour large-scale choral work sung in five languages and inspired by multiple world religions, was premiered at Temple Church in London in 2003 and is presented in its full version for only the second time in the UK.
