
Alena Baeva begins a series of performances across Asia

Following a successful conclusion of a tour through Germany, Alena Baeva continues her momentum headed for Japan this month, with subsequent engagements scheduled in Korea in May and Taiwan in June.
She begins with three concerts with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, playing Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 under the baton of Kazushi Ono. Concerts are in Nagoya on 19 April at the Aichi Prefectural Art Theater, on 20 April at the Festival Hall in Osaka, and on 22 April at Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
Baeva will then perform with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra next month, with concerts at the Seoul Arts Center on 15 and 16 May. She will play again Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 conducted by Hugh Wolff.
Baeva will finish off her 2024/25’s Asian engagements in Taiwan in June. On 7 June, she will perform Beethoven’s Violin sonatas No.2 and No.5 as well as Chausson’s Concert for Violin, Piano and String Quartet, Op.21, together with pianist Vadym Kholodenko, violinists Ting-Hsuan Hu and Yi-Hsin Lin, violist Mei-Chun Chen and cellist Yu-Han Chen. On 13 June, she will play again Shostakovich’s’ Violin Concerto No.1 with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Sylvain Cambreling.
