Anu Komsi performs Kurt Weill’s Der neue Orpheus für Sopran, Solovioline und Orchester and the soprano solo in Mahler’s Symphony No.4 under Sakari Oramo’s baton, with BBC Symphony Orchestra on 16 April at the Barbican Centre.
Komsi has recorded Mahler’s Symphony No.4 with Roger Norrington and Stuttgart Radio Symphony in 2019. The album can be purchased here.

This concert is the second of three with Oramo conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra, of which he is the Chief Conductor. On 11 April, he conducts a programme of British rarities, including Doreen Carwithen’s Piano Concerto and Arnold’s Symphony No.5. Finally, on the 24 April, Oramo unites with Sir Stephen Hough for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3, followed by Mahler’s Symphony No.1.
