Arts Partnerships & Tours travel around Europe this March

Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich tours Germany and France with pianist Víkingur Ólafsson and their Chief Conductor and Music Director, Paavo Järvi.
Featuring two programmes across five concerts, the first programme features Arvo Pärt’s Für Lennart in memoriam, Schumann’s Piano Concerto, and Symphony No.3. The second programme includes Ligeti’s Concert Românesc, John Adams’ Piano Concerto After the Fall written for Víkingur Ólafsson, and Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra.
The tour begins at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie for two concerts (15 and 16 March), then heads to Philharmonie de Paris (18 March), Alte Oper Frankfurt (19 March), Kölner Philharmonie (21 March), and finally brings the tour to a close at Philharmonie Essen joined by pianist Anna Vinnitskaya (22 March).

Australian Chamber Orchestra perform in Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw aan‘t IJ (11 March) and Stuttgart’s Liederhalle (19 March) as part of their European tour celebrating their 50th anniversary. Conducted by Richard Tognetti and joined by pianist Alexander Melnikov, they present an exciting programme centred around works by Bach and Shostakovich, including Bach’s (Arr. Richard Tognetti ) Musical Offering and Brandenburg Concerto No.3, Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto, Sofia Gubaidulina (Arr. for strings) Reflections on the Theme BACH, Bach’s (Arr. for strings) The Well-Tempered Clavier Volume 2, and Concerto for Violin and Oboe, and Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony.

Joined by conductor Nil Venditti and violinist Sayaka Shoji, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester heads to Festspielhaus Bregenz for a concert on 21 March.
