Two Austrian Debuts for Aivis Greters
7/2/2025
Aivis Greters makes his Austrian debut this month at Wiener Konzerthaus with Wiener Symphoniker leading two concerts on 13 and 14 February featuring Esenvalds’s Clouds, Strauss’ Burleske for Piano and Orchestra, as well as Sibelius’ Symphony No.2. with soloist Rudolf Buchbinder. This marks the first of two Austrian weeks with Sibelius in short succession, as he travels to Salzburg to conduct Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg at Großes Festspielhaus on 9 March. This time, the same Sibelius Symphony follows Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No.1 and Lindberg’s Concerto for Viola, featuring Lawrence Power as soloist.
