Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich tours Germany and France with pianist Víkingur Ólafsson and their Chief Conductor and Music Director, Paavo Järvi.
Featuring two programmes across five concerts, the first programme features Arvo Pärt’s Für Lennart in memoriam, Schumann’s Piano Concerto, and Symphony No.3. The second programme includes Ligeti’s Concert Românesc, John Adams’ Piano Concerto After the Fall written for Víkingur Ólafsson, and Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra.
The tour begins at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie for two concerts (15 and 16 March), then heads to Philharmonie de Paris (18 March), Alte Oper Frankfurt (19 March), Kölner Philharmonie (21 March), and finally brings the tour to a close at Philharmonie Essen joined by pianist Anna Vinnitskaya (22 March).
