21/1/2025
Maxime Pascal makes his debut with London Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of Pierre Boulez’s 100th anniversary. The concert on 26 January at the Barbican Centre honours Boulez and his influences in the composer’s centenary year. The program includes works by his beloved Debussy, alongside three fascinating world premieres: Olga Neuwirth’s Tombeau II: Hommage à Pierre Boulez, Rafael Marino Arcaro’s Invention in the Language of a Child and Lara Agar’s Suntime bedtime moontime.
The second concert, on 27 January at Milton Court Hall, explores fanfares, massed cellos, and electronics through a unique selection of Pierre Boulez’s works, including Anthèmes 2 for Violin and Electronics and Messagesquisse. Pascal will be joined by LSO Chamber Orchestra and soloist Benjamin Marquise Gilmore.
