Conductor Ross Jamie Collins Debuts with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra
18/10/2024
Finnish-British conductor Ross Jamie Collins makes his debut with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, as he conducts four education concerts at the Helsinki Music Centre in Finland on 22 and 23 October. The programme includes Timo Hietala’s Baby Symphony, Erkki Melartin’s Sleeping Beauty, Op. 22, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, and Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca.
All children born in Helsinki in 2020 are invited to these performances as part of the HPO Kids programme. The initiative aims to spark a love for music and provide families with shared experiences while supporting the development of musical and motor skills in children. For the past four years, HPO Kids have enjoyed concerts with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra every autumn and spring, free of charge for the entire family.
