Anima Eterna, renowned for its historically informed performances, embarks on a Spanish tour with two exceptional concerts this October. Led by the celebrated conductor Pablo Heras-Casado, and featuring the revered mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, the ensemble will perform at two iconic venues: Barcelona’s Palau de la Música on 29 October and the Kursaal in San Sebastián on 30 October.
The program features Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, alongside Bruckner’s majestic Symphony No.3.
Oslo Philharmonic embarks on a six-concert tour across Germany, Austria, and Belgium, under the leadership of Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor, Klaus Mäkelä. The orchestra will present an exceptional selection of masterpieces alongside distinguished soloists Leif Ove Andsnes and Vilde Frang.
The tour begins on 27 October in Bozar, Brussels, featuring a programme that includes Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4, and Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody No.1, with violinist Vilde Frang as the soloist.
On 29 October, they perform at Liederhalle, Beethovensaal in Stuttgart, presenting Bartók’s Orchestra Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4.
On 30 October, the orchestra performs at Musikverein Wien in Vienna, with a programme featuring Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 and Bartók’s Orchestra Concerto.
On 1 and 2 November, they play at Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg. On the first night, pianist Leif Ove Andsnes joins them to perform Beethoven’s majestic Piano Concerto No.5 and Bartók’s Orchestra Concerto.
On the second night in Hamburg, as well as the final concert on 3 November at Konzerthaus Dortmund, they return to a programme with violinist Vilde Frang, performing Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4, and Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody No.1.
Philharmonia Orchestra heads to Finland and Estonia with Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali, violinist Nemanja Radulović, and cellist Marcel Johannes Kits, who makes his Philharmonia debut.
On 16 October, Santtu conducts the Philharmonia in his native Finland. Philharmonia Featured Artist Nemanja Radulović joins him in Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, along with Glinka’s Overture, Ruslan and Ludmila, and Sibelius’ Symphony No.3 at Tampere Hall.
The orchestra crosses the Baltic Sea on 17 October to perform at Tallinn’s Estonia Concert Hall, with the addition of Elgar’s Cello Concerto performed by Marcel Johannes Kits, replacing the Khachaturian.
