On 26 September, Kahchun Wong marks the start of his highly anticipated tenure as Principal Conductor with The Hallé Orchestra with a rousing programme consisting of his new Suite from Britten’s Prince of the Pagodas (curated with Colin Matthews) and Mahler’s ever-popular Symphony No.1. The Prince of the Pagodas is Wong’s first recording project with the orchestra, soon to be released on The Hallé label, making this programme symbolic of embarking on a new journey.
