The Austrian Art Prize  2024, has been awarded to Patricia Kopatchinskaja in the Music category. This prestigious award, given annually by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport, recognises distinguished artists and institutions for their outstanding body of work.

The jury said: ​“Kopatchinskaja, known for her unconventional interpretations, initially polarised audiences but now captivates the largest concert halls worldwide. Kopatchinskaja rejects smooth interpretations and consistently integrates contemporary music into her programs. Curious and innovative, she has already inspired numerous composers to create new works. Her artistic enthusiasm inspires colleagues and challenges partners and organizers, spurring everyone on to top performance.”
