On 10 September, Wiener Philharmoniker and conductor Christian Thielemann, open the Ghent Festival in Belgium.
In this concert, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner’s birth, the orchestra performs Bruckner’s Symphony No.1 at Saint Bavo’s Cathedral. The symphony contains all the elements that make Bruckner so unique and loved: the layered structure, the heavenly melodies, the overwhelming climaxes, and his unique talent for making us forget time and transport us to another dimension.
