This summer, Stephanie Childress visits the US for two months of performances. In early July, she debuted with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, conducting four neighbourhood concerts in Detroit. On 18 July, she conducts a concert in Baltimore in a programme including Anthony Barfield’s Red Sky for orchestra and trombone, featuring the orchestra’s own trombonist, Jeremy Buckler.
Shortly after, she makes her debut with the Minnesota Orchestra with three concerts on: 26 July featuring pianist Jon Kimura Parker; and a matinee and evening on 27 July as a part of the 50th anniversary of the Orchestra Hall Minnesota. Stephanie then returns to Sun Valley Music Festival for a month as Associate Conductor, both conducting concerts and giving masterclasses.
