Internationally celebrated cellist Alban Gerhardt and renowned composer and music educator Mattias Hinke have been announced as new Artistic Directors of the Young Euro Classic Youth Orchestra Festival. Having played at the festival himself, most recently last year with the Asian Youth Orchestra, Alban Gerhardt says, ​“If Young Euro Classic didn’t exist, you would definitely have to invent it” and that he has ​“rarely experienced such a warm and enthusiastic young audience”. In partnership with Mathis Hinke, whose works have been performed by major orchestras worldwide, Gerhardt is determined to develop Young Euro Classic further, and to shape the festival into an inspiring platform and an outstanding meeting point for young European and international talent.
