Hong Kong Philharmonic China Tour

Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra embark on a seven-concert tour in China in May under conductor Yu Long along with cellist Jian Wang and violinist Paloma So.
The orchestra starts their tour in Wuxi Grand Theatre (8 May) and continues in Shanghai Oriental Art Center (9 May), Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall (11 May), Changsha Concert Hall (12 May), Harbin Concert Hall (15 May), Shenyang Shengjing Grand Theatre (16 May) and the final destination is the Concert Hall of Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts (18 May).
The programmes includes The Murmuring Brook, Zouxikou and Duihua by Yuankai Bao, Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto by Gang Chen, Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra, Dvořák ‘s Symphony No.9, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
This is the orchestra’s first large-scale tour in the Chinese mainland in a long time, including its debuts in cities like Wuxi, Wuhan, Harbin and Shenyang, following its successful visits in Singapore and Europe earlier in the year.
