A member of the troupe at Opéra National de Paris, American soprano Ilanah Lobel-Torres received unanimous praise from French critics for her debut this season as Krista in Krzysztof Warlikowski’s production of Věc Makropulos under Susanna Mälkki and most recently stepping in at less than 24 hours’ notice as Beatriz in Calixto Bieito’s new staging of The Exterminating Angel led by composer Thomas Adès.

Lobel-Torres returns to Opéra National de Paris in the 2024/25 season as Zerlina in Barrie Kosky’s new production of Les Brigands under Stefano Montanari, Papagena in Robert Carsen’s staging of Die Zauberflöte led by Oksana Lyniv, Un amante in Il Tabarro and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica in Christof Loy’s production of Puccini’s triptych, conducted by Carlo Rizzi, and as Pousette in Manon directed by Vincent Huguet and led by Pierre Dumoussaud.
