Angela Hewitt: Mozart’s Complete Piano Concertos
8/3/2024
Following her ambitious and highly acclaimed Bach Odyssey cycle, Angela Hewitt now embarks on her next milestone project: Mozart’s Complete Piano Concertos.
Spread between leading orchestras throughout the world, and comprising a mix of play-directed engagements and performances with conductor, the concerto cycle kicks off next week, on 15 March in Tallinn, where Hewitt joins the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and fellow HP artist Pierre Bleuse for Concerto No.20.
The project is set to run until the end of 2026. Performances scheduled so far, this season and next, take place in Europe, North America and Asia; countries include the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Hungary, United States, Canada and Malaysia, inter alia. Among upcoming highlights are engagements with Royal Northern Sinfonia, Cameristi della Scala, Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Fort Worth Symphony, the opening concert of Hewitt’s 2025 Trasimeno Music Festival, and a full-length concerto programme as part of the 20th-year jubilee edition of the International Music Festival ‘Chopin and his Europe’.
Mozart is a staple of Hewitt’s repertoire, and the concerto cycle follows hot on the heels of her concluding recording to Mozart’s complete Piano Sonatas, the first two albums of which are available on Hyperion Records.
Further performances within the concerto cycle are to be announced. For more details about the project, please contact Marissa Pueschel.
