Lan Shui returns to China

Lan Shui finishes 2023 and opens 2024 with multiple performances in China. He first tours China with Philharmonia Orchestra, performing music by Elgar, Mendelssohn and Dvořák, as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.17 and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 alongside pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. They perform at Shenzhen Concert Hall on 29 December, and Guangzhou Opera House on 31 December and 1 January. Afterwards they travel to Shanghai for a performance at the AIA Grand Theatre on 3 January, and finish the tour in Beijing with two concerts at National Centre for the Performing Arts 5 — 7 January and at the Beijing Performing Arts Centre on 6 January.
Following the Philharmonia tour, Shui concludes his Beijing run with China National Symphony Orchestra, conducting an all-Mahler programme comprising Symphony No.1 and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with baritone soloist Liao Changyong at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on 14 January.
