Cellist Alban Gerhardt takes up his bow as one of Aldeburgh Festival’s 2024 featured musicians. The position sees Gerhardt perform in five concerts from 7 — 23 June 2024, opening the festival with a rendition of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto alongside Edward Gardner and London Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Throughout the festival, he collaborates with Steven Osborne, Claire Booth, Joseph Havlat, Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux, Ryan Wigglesworth, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Gerhardt will showcase works by Unsuk Chin, Thomas Larcher, Britten, Schubert, Schumann, and Debussy.
