14/12/2023
After three rounds, the Jury of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) has chosen the releases competing in the finals for the 2024 awards. Recordings from Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Christian Tetzlaff and Pierre-Laurent Aimard are selected as finalists in two categories. The initial list, with a total of 375 nominations, was reduced to three releases per category.
In the Chamber Music category, Patricia Kopatchinskaja has reached the final selection for her album of Janáček, Brahms and Bartók violin sonatas alongside pianist Fazil Say. In the same category, Christian Tetzlaff’s recording of Schubert Piano Trios, alongside his sister Tanja Tetzlaff and deeply missed long-time friend Lars Vogt, has also been selected.
In the Concerto category, pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard’s recording of Bartók’s complete piano concertos alongside San Francisco Symphony and Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen has made it down to the final three.
Congratulations to all our artists who were nominated. The winners will be announced on 18 January.
