TAIKO PERFORMING ENSEMBLE KODO TOUR EUROPE
14/12/2023
Kodo embarks on an extensive European tour in February and March, travelling to the UK, France, Poland and Croatia.
Since the group’s debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981, KODO has given over 6,500 performances on all five continents. They blend simple forms of taiko expression that celebrate the unique sound, resonance, and physicality synonymous with Kodo — forever children of the drum at heart.
The tour begins in the UK, where the ensemble will perform at Warwick Arts Centre on 1 February, Basingstoke’s Anvil Arts on 3 February, and then onto the Barbican in London for two performances on 5 and 6 February.
The troupe then travel to France for eight performances. These take place at Palais de la musique et des congrès in Strasbourg (26 February), Le Nouveau Siècle in Lille (28 February), Salle Pleyel in Paris (1, 2 and 3 March), Cité des Congrès in Nantes (6 March), Le Liberté — Rennes (7 March) and Amphithéâtre 3000 in Lyon (9 March).
Further dates include return visits to NOSPR in Katowice (19 March) and Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb (24 March).
